Image of Claire Beecroft's Prezi on 'The role of literature in reviews' by Claire Beecroft
This month marks the first online-only issue of CILIP's Multi Media Information Technology (MMIT) Group's Journal. Obviously this would be blog-worthy enough, but it also features an article on the online presentation tool Prezi, by IR's very own Claire Beecroft. And she only submitted her piece because IRs very own Andy Tattersall has recently had his own article published in MMIT on reference management social-networking tool Mendeley! Phew, we scarcely pause for breath around here!

Posted by Andy

REF on the Frontline
REF on the Frontline
Andrew Booth (ScHARR's Director of Information)
Hardly a week goes by without some mention of the REF. But what does it mean for the researcher on the frontline? This session will cut through the mountains of guidance to provide Bitesized tips and tricks for REF success. What is a good REF paper? How can I play the citation game? How can I achieve impact? How can I exploit REF for academic success? This session will provide practical demonstrations of successful REF tactics.
This session will be of value to all Academic and Research staff, particularly those Grade 8 or above.

New book by ScHARR authors!
Need help with your literature review? You know you're more than welcome to visit us in the library for one-to-one training but here's something you can take home and read at your leisure. AND it's written by three of our esteemed colleagues at ScHARR, namely Andrew Booth, Diana Papaioannou and Anthea Sutton!
If you're interested, it can be purchased at the very reasonable price of £22.99 (bargain!) or it can be borrowed from your favourite local library (1st floor, Regent Court) and is shelved at H 62 (Sys). Go on.... you know you want to.
