Established in 1994 ScHARR's Information Resources team has established itself as a key national player in providing information support to health technology assessment and health services research. Here are the slides from mine, Claire Beecroft and Anna Cantrell's portals presentation at Internet Librarian International 2009 in London in October. The presentation begins with a description of subject-specific Web 2.0 portals for academic and National Health Service researchers and moves to discussion of the pitfalls encountered and lessons learnt in choosing a portal hosting service. Hosted on iGoogle, Pageflakes and Netvibes, the portals bring together news, journal content, funding opportunities, events and tailored searches.
