If its September it must mean students...

Here at ScHARR towers we don't just deliver world class information services and research. Many of the ScHARR library staff also teach on postgraduate courses and this year I have the honour of leading our MSc Health Informatics course, run jointly by the ISchool and ScHARR.
This week we've been running our annual induction courses for years 1 and 3 and it's been a busy and productive week. Here's wishing all our students the best of luck for the new academic year!

FDMH Bitesize: Google Apps. 19 September 2012 at 14:30hrs. @IC-B20 Information

In 2011 we unofficially became a University of Google - we all use Google every day, to search, email, collaborate and organise. Despite this, most staff are using just a small percentage of the powerful tools and apps available to us, this session looks to show you what you are missing. Want to work that bit smarter? Want to know how to make Google work for you? Or just want to feel more confident using Google? Then come along to this Bite Size session that will show you how to get more from the Big G. Bring a hot drink and we'll provide the cakes!

More Infographic wonderfulness!

Never mind the Olympics, it truly appears to be the week of the Infographic here at ScHARR Towers. Here is another beauty, this time from the UK Department for Business, Innovation and Skills on "The value of education".  We were alerted to this from the great Storying Sheffield Twitter feed, do look them up.
