Drive: The surprising truth about what motivates us

Posted by Andy

My lovely wife sent me this the other day, and even though it's not a library / information video - I thought it was pretty interesting and thought it would be good to share it on the blog. Plus it's enhanced by those cool people at RSA Animate who could make the dullest talk sound brilliant. Any way, find out what makes people tick and how to get the best out of them :-)

Opening up our practices - Going Google
View more PowerPoint from Sarah Horrigan-Fullard

Posted by Andy

I thought I'd share this wonderfully visual presentation by the University's Sarah Horrigan from this year's Google Apps for EDU European User Group meeting. It gives an insight into why we're Google, what we're doing using Google and where we're going with Google and beyond at The University of Sheffield.

ScHARR Bite Size for Research - Web Conferencing Tools

 Posted by Andy

This week as part of the 50th ScHARR Bite Size session we took the brave step to deliver a session from three different locations using Gooogle Hangouts On Air to look at the various Web Conferencing tools out there. I was joined by Chris Clow from the IC and Graham McElearney joined us in Regent Court on a different floor. Considering who quickly we put this together things went well and technology didn't fail us - which was the main thing. See what you think.
