ScHARR Library Bite Size for Research #11 - Wednesday 22nd June - 2.30pm - Pemberton Lecture Theatre - uSpace and Google Docs

Posted by Andy

The latest ScHARR Bite Size session to support research will look at the University’s uSpace platform and the new Google Docs addition to your University account.

uSpace
Do you want to work in new ways?

Do you want better collaboration with your colleagues?

Do you want to teach using discussion forums, blogs, videos and images?

Do you want to work on shared documents, complete with hyperlinks?

What is uSpace?

uSpace is an increasingly useful tool in our own research, teaching and collaboration. Along

with other useful Web2.0 tools it could make a big difference to how you work

and interact with your fellow staff and students. uSpace is a collaborative environment including document collaboration, blogs, and discussions.

Google Docs
You will have read recently that The University of Sheffield has turned on it’s Google Docs part of our Google account. Now everyone has a Google Docs account.

What can you do in Docs?
Create documents, spreadsheets, forms, surveys, presentations etc. Find out how we’ve used it in the library to log enquiries, make surveys, work on documents and much more.

As per usual – bite size cakes will be available, just bring a nice hot drink with you (well it is the British Summertime after all)
